If your garden is bursting with produce, why not share your bounty with others. CultivateIowa is an organization that helps connect gardeners with extra produce with people who can put that produce to good use. Also take a look at the list below to find out who could use your extras.

MICA Food Pantry

Donate food to Mid-Iowa Community Action.  Drop off food Monday thru Friday, from 8:30am to 4pm. Learn more at the MICA website.

Emergency Residence Project

Donate food to the Emergency Residence Project.  Feel free to stop by 7 days a week, anytime after 4 PM.

Bethesda Food Pantry

Donate Food the the Bethesda Food Pantry at the Bethesda Lutheran Church.  Donate produce between 9am-4pm, Monday thru Friday.

Plant a Row for the Hungry

Plant a Row for the Hungry (Story County) accepts donations of fresh vegetables to be distributed among non-profits in Ames, including Food at First and local food pantries.  Plant a Row will accept clean, quality fruits and vegetables from gardeners from 9am-6pm, 7 days a week.

Drop-off Location – Reiman Gardens, 1407 University Blvd.

Food at First

Produce can be dropped off at First United Methodist Church that will be used for meals at Food at First.  During business hours and on Saturdays, food can be delivered straight into the first fridge in the basement, or you can stop at the main office for directions.
